The Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations is an International Non-Governmental Youth Organisation. It represents national voluntary service organisations which promote democratic youth participation,intercultural education, understanding and peace through voluntary service.
The Alliance, founded in 1982, is presently made up of 48 members from 29 countries in Europe, Asia and America. Each member organisation runs an annual programme of International Volunteer Projects in their own country and exchanges volunteers with each other following the Alliance Quality Charter and the Standards of Exchanges that stress on the added value of every year an average of 18.000 young volunteers participate in more than 2000 local community projects organised by member organisations.read more

The biggest meeting of its kind is gathering more then 150 representatives from approx. 90 organisations from 50 countries of the world. This is where long term partnerships and lifetime friendships are being built since 1982.
The video "Volunteering with the Alliance" has been released on January 2014 online, with the support of the European Youth Foundation and thanks to the effort of the young film-makers' team Break the Couch.
This wide scale EVS short term project permitted 30 youngsters with fewer opportunities to live a first voluntary and mobility experience by participating in an international workcamp in the course of the year 2013.
"Learning Bridges to Youth Empowerment, Creativity and Participation" was an international cooperation project between European and Latin American voluntary organisations funded by Youth in Action Programme 3.2.
