In this section you can find information and links on the campaigns that the Alliance has developed or joined. Each year the Alliance decides on a number of campaigns at its General Assembly that takes place in Autumn. These campaigns are a way for our members to work together to help promote and develop the goals and values of the network and its members.
At the moment, the Alliance implements a permanent campaign on Environmental Sustainability and “Not in my camp!” campaign on gender-based discrimination. Other important values of Alliance workcamps, that were formerly promoted through independent campaigns such as the Accessing Campaign, are now jointly promoted through the yearly “common action”: in 2017, the Common Action decided and prepared by the Working Groups is 1Table4All.
For more information about the campaigns and common action, and to consult the related materials prepared and collected by our Working Groups and Committees, check the specific sections of this website.
In 2016, the Alliance together with its sister networks CCIVS, SCI and NVDA, discussed and adopted a common position paper on the Freedom of Movement. The process started by initiative of CCIVS back in 2013 after the adoption by CCIVS GA of the White Paper on IVS, where Freedom of Movement was identified as one of the strategic objectives for the IVS civil society. After several joint activities and laboratories involving all sister workcamp networks, the final draft of Freedom of Movement position paper was discussed and adopted at the General Assemblies of each network, between 2016 and 2017. A support document gives further clarifications on terms and concepts particularly debated by the networks, and some suggestions about how to use the position paper.
